Collection of Limoges Decorative Dishes to Include Five Artichoke/Asparagus Plates, 1 is chipped, 9", Three 5 1/2" Saucers, One 8 1/2" Plate and Five 5 3/4" Dessert Bowls One has been repaired. By J. Golse. Raised Impasto Gold Gilt atop a Rich Cobalt Blue Background and Hanpainted Roses, Mums and Birds in the Center. All Marked by Haviland Limoges. Signed by the highly collected and well know artist " J. Golse". He also signed in French "Porcelaine d'art J. Golse Limoges"
It is marked marked by Jean Pouyat (JP) Factory, dated ca 1890 to 1932.
Ps: The Pouyat family was one of the oldest French names connected with the Limoges porcelain industry. Jean Pouyat’s grandfather had a faience factory in the 1760s at St. Yrieix. He also owned KAaolin factory in the area in the late 1700s. Jean’s father, François, operated a hard paste porcelain factory in Paris from the early 1800s until around 1840. Jean Pouyat established a company circa 1842 at Limoges. Jean died in 1849, and the business was carried on by his son. About 1883, the company became known as La Céramique. The Pouyat and William Guérin companies were joined in 1912.
