WARREN KIMBLE (AMERICAN, B. 1935) AMERICAN COW ORIGINAL PAINTING, oil on antique wooden table top with cleats, depicting a large body cow, often referred to Miss Nellie, signed and dated 1991 lower right. 22" x 36".
Excellent condition, age imperfections to board, as painted.
Provenance: From a Virginia estate collection.
Acquired directly from the artist.
Catalogue Note: Warren Kimble is referred to as "America’s Best Known Living Folk Artist." His paintings are collected worldwide and have been the subject of one-person shows in galleries in New York and Boston, as well as at Syracuse University, a three-year exhibition at the Shelburne Museum, and most recently at the Henry Sheldon Museum in Vermont.
