Description
Germany, 15th to 16th century CE. This is a heavy brass door knocker in the shape of a seated lion with his front limbs perched on a ball. He has many details, including a mane, ribs, and a long, thin tail draped around his body. He also has a charming, almost cute face that gazes up at the person about the knock. Size: 9.25" L x 4" W x 9.75" H (23.5 cm x 10.2 cm x 24.8 cm).
