Description
North America, United States, ca. early to mid-20th century CE. A delightful brass door knocker in the form of a lion head grasping a thick ring in its open mouth. Enveloped in a luscious mane, the ferocious feline displays a naturalistic visage with almond-shaped eyes, a broad snout, incised whiskers, and protruding fangs, all surmounted by a pair of pointed ears. Drill holes on verso for attachment to a door. Size: 7.6" W x 9" H (19.3 cm x 22.9 cm)
