Description
Near East, Iran / Fertile Crescent, possibly Tepe Marlik or Tepe Sialk, ca. 1500 to 1000 BCE. A very fine earthenware pouring vessel of beautiful tawny hues and an elegant silhouette. The large globular body is incised with an attractive band of double V motifs that circumscribe the pot and changes direction beneath the long spout and strap handle. Along the rim applied petite triangular pieces adorn the areas above the spout and handle. A wonderful example of pottery from the ancients of the Fertile Crescent! Size: 6.75" L x 10.2" W x 4.6" H (17.1 cm x 25.9 cm x 11.7 cm)
