Description
African (possibly Zulu), 20th century. A pair of pottery sculptures with oxidized or rusted finish depicting male and female tribal figures - the male beating a tall drum at his side, the female holding her skirt out to side and dancing - each figure with arm and face tilting upward whereby creating opposing forms, each raised on rectangular oxidized iron plinth base. Unmarked. Male approximate height 21", female approximate height 20". Provenance: From the Private Collection of Dr. & Mrs. Calvin Wayne McLarin, Atlanta, Georgia.
