Description
American, second half 20th century. A colorful Navajo wool woven pictorial rug depicting three female Diyiin Dinee (Holy People) holding arrows alternating between corn stalks, emblematic of growth and prosperity, and surrounded on three sides by a Rainbow Yei. Measures approximately 34.75' x 49.5".Provenance: From the Estate of Vice Admiral Hugh Goodwin and Mrs. Eleanor Welty Goodwin thence by descent to their daughter, Sidney Mary Goodwin and her husband, Mr. George Marshall Brown of Georgia.
