Description
Asian, 20th century. A group of two signed reverse painted glass snuff bottles comprising a large finely painted bottle with yellow cut glass accents and bearing reverse painted scenes of a red cardinal bird resting on a rock above a lotus pond and a blue jay bird resting on a branch above orange chrysanthemum flowers, signed beside seal to one side of body; and a second finely painted bottle with yellow chrysanthemum blossoms, red flowers, and green leaves to one side, and a mountainous landscape scene to other side, signed to one side beside red seal mark - each with a domed opaque glass stopper. Peking glass bottle contained within silk embroidery bound box. Peking glass bottle approximate height 3.125", other bottle approximate height 2.625". Provenance: From the Estate of Channing S. Jun, M.D., Eastman, Georgia.
