Description
A Russian gilded silver covered goblet, Feodor Petrov, Moscow, 1767, the cup with a tapering cylindrical bowl separated from the domed spreading foot by a pineapple knop and numerous silver scrolls, the domed and stepped slip on lid with chased pomegranate finial, struck with maker's mark (Postnikova-Loseva no. 2705), the Cyrillic initials VA of an unidentified assayer active 1760-1794 (Postnikova-Loseva no. 2084), and Moscow hallmark dated 1767. Weight 275 grams. Height 9 in. (23 cm).
