Description
A Russian silver beaker, made in Moscow in the 1760's, in Russian Rococo taste, tapering cylindrical, raised on domed foot, chased and repoussé with scrolls, shellwork, and floral ornament, struck with Cyrillic maker's mark TST of an unidentified master (Postnikova-Loseva no. 2940), the partial Cyrillic mark ?.G, probably for an unidentified assayer, the Cyrillic mark of alderman Feodor Petrov (Postnikova-Loseva no. 2133), Moscow hallmark dated 176?, and a later collection mark in black ink or paint. A pricked collection or weight mark has been partially obliterated. Weight 213 grams. Height: 6 in. (15.1 cm)
