Scarce pictorial booklet with photographs of the many ships of the U.S. Navy as the nation began to flex its imperialist muscles. About four lines of text beneath each photograph describes the ship, and gives its cost - about three million dollars buys a first-class battleship. Most photographs with copyright notice of F.H. Child. On the front and rear wrappers are the large rubberstamps of of S.C. Wyckoff, likely the Wyckoff who was a photographer's mate second class in the U.S. Navy active in the 1960s. OCLC/WorldCat lists four copies, at the New Hampshire State Library, Brown University, the Naval War College, and the Mariners' Museum Library in Newport News, Virginia.
