Description
Sterling silver amulet with feathers and turquoise stone owned and worn by Jimi Hendrix, c. 1968

This amulet was given by Jimi to his brother Leon Hendrix when Jimi came to visit his house in 1968. He was going to be playing at the Seattle Center Coliseum. Before the gig, Jimi called out to Leon from his bedroom. When Leon walked in, he threw a blue crushed velvet suit on the bed and told Leon to try it on. After Leon put the outfit on Jimi reached into his pocket and pulled out a couple rings which Leon also put on. When the outfit was complete, he looked at the full length mirror on the wall. He refers to not being able to wipe the smile of his face saying he looked like a rockstar. This amulet is one of Jimi's personal items he brought to the house in 1968.

Provenance: Leon Hendrix, acquired from Jimi in 1968
