CUT OVERLAY TULIP KEROSENE STAND LAMP, light ruby to colorless pyriform font with additional punties to base, opaque black No. 1 base, brass connector, No. 1 fine-line collar. Fitted with a period setup comprising a No. 1 E. F. Jones lip burner, thumbwheel marked "E. F. JONES. BOSTON. MAY 4, 3" standard shade ring, colorless and frosted Oregon shade with engraved floral pattern, and a colorless lip chimney. Boston & Sandwich Glass Co. 1860-1880. 16 1/2" H to top of shade, 9 3/4" H to top of collar, 4" SQ foot. Shade 5 5/8 H, 3" D fitter.
Literature: Font as B & K II, fig. 2392; and Thuro II, p. 64i. Base parallels Thuro II, p. 33o.
Provenance: From a mid-Atlantic private collection.

Excellent condition, font undamaged and with an elongated broken bubble at a cutting, as made, foot with a flake to upper edge and underside with an open bubble and roughness, connector with light denting. Burner and shade undamaged, chimney fitter with expected roughness.
