Description
PILLAR-MOLDED DIMINUTIVE COVERED COMPOTE, colorless, deep bowl with eight pronounced ribs and a heavy tooled rim, raised on a solid, baluster-form stem and thick circular foot with a polished pontil mark, domed eight-rib cover with an applied solid pyriform finial with polished top. Attributed to the Pittsburgh area. 1850-1870. 9 1/2" HOA, 6 1/4" D rim, 4 1/2" D foot.
