Egypt, New Kingdom, 18th Dynasty, rein of Tuthmosis III, ca. 1479 to 1401 BCE. Large and lovely green glazed steatite scarab beetle of somewhat naturalistic form, notched wing case; base inscribed with royal cartouche of Tuthmosis III, uraei and winged beetle as a protective amulet. Pierced for suspension. Size: 1.375" L (3.5 cm)
