Description
DESCRIPTION: A very fine mahogany Boston Chippendale type bombe form chest on chest made by Stickley for the Williamsburg Reserve Collection circa 2000. Number 64 of a limited number made. The form consisting of five graduated drawers in the lower case and seven graduated drawers in the upper case surmounted by a carved bonnet top with urn and twist finials. Secret compartment under bottom most drawer with three green velvet lined jewelry drawers. Marked with tag and Reserve Collection mark to interior drawer. L. & J.G. Stickley’s exclusive licensing agreement with the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation started in 2000. All pieces in this collection carry the prestigious hallmark insignia of the Williamsburg Products Program and are signed and dated by a Stickley cabinetmaker. MEASUREMENTS: 46" x 24" x 96" high. CONDITION: Wear consistent with age. Scattered white scuffs/paint marks to edges of bottom two drawers of bottom case. Minor scuff to bottom drawer of upper cabinet and upper left reeding.
