Description

A Continental Mantle Clock. Neoclassical style rouge marble mantle clock is raised on hairy paw feet and a satyr's head. Surmounting the base are two winged sphynx figures with plumes in their hair, depicted holding shields. Top of clock is formed by a winged cupid with bow, flanked by lions heads on either side. Movement is stamped 17/14. With key. Susanin's will not comment on any watch or clock movement Total: 25" x 15" x 7"

Condition

The piece sustains spots of tarnish and dust throughout. The satyr head and both sphynx figures are slightly loose from base.
