Description
This is a Northern Plains Native American Indian Gunstock War Club with an immensely rare spontoon blade and is from the 19th Century. The war club or warriors club shows the Revolutionary War (1775-1783) Colonial American Spontoon style blade (the hand forged spike head was used during the Revolutionary War by the Americans in trench defense against charging British infantry or cavalry). The war club has a wood Gunstock handle with excellent trade brass tack accents and has a hand hewn carved style. The piece is from the 19th Century and shows very well preserved museum quality good condition. Provenance: The piece is from a large Native American Indian artifact private collection in Saskatchewan, Canada and was purchased in Canada. Measures 23 5/8”L x 8”W with a 3.25”L x 1 3/8”W spontoon blade.
