Item Details

Description

Vellum glaze scenic decorated by Kataro Shirayamadani in 1906 with clumps of trees under a yellow sky. Unfortunately, the vase fired a bit dark resulting in the wheel ground X on the bottom indicating it as a second. Marks include the Rookwood logo, date, shape 935 D, V for Vellum, the master's incised Japanese cypher and the wheel ground X. There is fine overall crazing, tiny glaze skips near the base and a few open glaze bubbles. Height is 8 inches.
