Description
Constance Walton, (United Kingdom, 1865-1960) watercolor entitled Roses painted circa 1900 and exhibited in the Glasgow International Exhibition of 1901. Pictured are sprays of roses in various stages of bloom arrayed in a ceramic bowl. Signed lower right by the artist. Affixed to the back of the newer frame are two labels. The first is from the above noted exhibition for the Fine Art Section Water-Colours and the artist is noted as Mrs. W.H. Ellis. The other label notes that Constance Walton is Mrs. W.H. Ellis and gives her address. Not examined out of the frame, sight size is 20 1/4 by 28 3/4 inches and with frame, overall size is 28 1/2 by 37 inches. Appears to be in excellent condition.
