Description
Fine pair Sevres hard paste porcelain scarf dancer figurines in the style of famous dancer, Loie Fuller, designed by Agathon Leonard in 1898 for Sevres and vigorously sold at the 1900 Paris Exposition. Leonard created 15 different forms of the scarf dancer. The pair with arms raised measure 15 1/2 inches and 18 1/2 inches. Each are impressed Sevres within a square on the side. One figure is also impressed 1902, HR on the side and incised No 11 on the bottom. The mate is impressed VP on the side and incised No13 beneath. Repairs to the arms and hands of both figures, minor garment nicks. Elegant and graceful.
