Description
Uncommon example of Prairie Pottery a line produced at UND in the mid 1930's that could be made by school children including those at the Indian schools in the state. This one, a small charger, is designed by Flora Huckfield and shows a fawn in relief on a bisque body with highlights in gloss green. Marks include the Prairie Pottery U.N.D. Grand Forks linear logo and incised Huck 13. Excellent original condition although the bisque back is a bid dusty. Diameter is 7 3/8 inches. Pictured in Forster UND University of North Dakota Pottery a history and comparative study on page 121, color plate 101 and discussed on page 120.
