Terracotta with painting. China, Tang Dynasty (618 - 905)
On four legs standing red-brown horse, whose head is very lively and attentively designed with perked, pointed ears. The bound short tail stands out almost horizontally. The lady and saddle are together removable and mainly painted with white pigment. She is somewhat leaned back, has a round face with very finely painted features and wears a hair bun. the sleeves continue over the hands. Firing opening on the belly side, altogether good original condition.
