Description
India, Gupta period, ca. 5th century CE, Greek, ca. 400 BCE, and Roman, ca. 200 CE. This is a trio of terracotta maskettes, each with distinctive facial style that makes for a complementary collection. The Roman maskette depicts Mercury. Maskettes served a wide range of purposes, and items like these probably decorated items in the domestic sphere. Size of largest: 2.2" W x 3.4" H (5.6 cm x 8.6 cm)
