Description
A VINTAGE BLUE AND WHITE TRANSFER DECORATED PLATTER, after WEDGWOOD, "WILLOW" PATTERN, 20TH CENTURY, of rectangular form with rounded corners, pale blue and dark cobalt transfer decoration featuring the classic scene of lakeside temples nestled within a variety of verdant trees and bushes with three stylized fishermen crossing a bridge as a fourth steers a gondola in the near distance, two love birds fly overhead, bordered by an intricately patterned well and rim, reversing to an unmarked underside. Height: 1 1/2" Width: 17 1/2" Depth: 13 3/4" Provenance: Estate of the Late James K. Schooler, Esq.
Condition
The platter in good condition, with no major cracks, chips, or repairs. Overall, general condition issues include spots of discoloration, some pitting, allover craquelure, and bluish tinted white ground.
