A CHINESE SANCAI GLAZED POTTERY EQUESTRIAN MAIDEN MUSICIAN, in the Tang Dynasty style, modeled as a cut mane horse standing four square on a rectangular base, supporting a long robed maiden musician with an elaborate unglazed chignon hairstyle within a stylized glazed headdress centering reticulated details and flanking a floral diadem, seated on a traditional saddle suspending textile folds and playing a drum (lacking stick), glazed in golden amber, green, chestnut and ivory colors. Height: 19" Width: 16" Depth: 5 1/2"
Condition
