Nelle quali non sol si tratta di quelle vertù, ch'à viuer nella luce di Dio, & de gli huomini bisogneuoli sono: ma etiandio si flagellano acerrimamente que' vitij, che più de gli altri trasuiano dal camino de la vera gloria, & guastano la gratia ciuile. The work includes index and register.

A moral treatise by Bartolomeo Arnigio, divided into ten "vigils", pretending to be held between friends in the Brescia house of Orrensio Domizio.

The conversations have as their object the various issues related to morality: the search for the good and happiness, ignorance as a factor to the evil inclination, drunkenness, the effects of anger and impatience, excessive curiosity, legal and illicit games, the true religion, shame, temperance, marriage, lying, etc.

Bartolomeo Arnigio (Brescia, 1523-ivi, 1577) was a scholar, poet of Petrarch intonation, and a physician, member of the Academy of Occult.
