Description

ENGLISH CAUGHLEY ATTRIBUTED PORCELAIN BASKET, pierced, fluted basket with small floral sprigs at cross sections of basketweave and clusters of flowers at terminals of the twisted handles, blue printed design in "pinecone pattern" on interior base and along interior rim, along with blue accents on floral sprigs and handles. Painted blue mark on bottom is an open crescent moon or "C". Circa 1770. 6" x 7".
Very good condition overall. Several petals on the flowers found at the terminals of the handles have been broken and expected firing cracks in minor places covered by glaze.

Provenance: From a Boston area collection.
