Description
A Daisy Makeig-Jones (English, 1881-1945) for Wedgwood (English, founded 1759) fairyland lustre porcelain bowl, circa 1920, underside with black underglaze maker's mark "Wedgwood Made in England", numbered "25360 v." with additional underglaze inscription "2308 p". Art nouveau malfrey pot in Woodland Elves IV pattern, with characteristic pearlescent lustre throughout, with elves and fairies playing amongst toadstools and green grass, with faint spider web design in background, with lustre celadon and gilt grass frond decoration to the recessed center of interior. Approximate height 3.25", diameter 3.125".
Condition
Overall excellent condition. Very minor loss to gilt surfaces, interior and exterior. Interior with scattered underglaze flaws, original to piece. Linear tight fracture to the interior, stable and not distracting. Underside with wear commensurate with shelf use and underglaze flaws, original to piece.
