Description
Wang Hing & Co. (Chinese (Hong Kong), late 19th/ early 20th century). A Chinese export 900 silver tankard or mug with intricate decoration in relief, the tapering cylindrical body with an elaborate continuous figural scene on tondo depicting many courtly figures in an outdoor garden surrounded by traditional Chinese architecture and trees, the mug with a serpentine dragon form handle to one side attached at rim and just above foot, with gold wash interior. Underside with impressed "HM" beside "90" and calligraphic cartouche. Approximate height 4.75", width across handle 5.5", diameter of foot 3.25". Approximate weight 8.5 troy ounces.
Condition
Overall with minor surface scratches and dings commensurate with age. Overall with signs of oxidation and tarnish, may benefit from professional cleaning. Interior lining with minor lifting or bubbling. Small dent to shield form on mug exterior. Underside with surface scratches, minor dings and subtle pitting commensurate with age and surface contact.
