PROVENANCE:
From the Collections of Gerald Simpson (1925-2018) born in a rural area of north Gilmer County, GA. His family moved to Cartersville, GA in 1926. He later joined the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) before volunteering for the United States Marine Corps when he was 17. After basic training at Parris Island, SC, Harold volunteered for Radio Gunner School and received flight training for SBD Dive Bombers. A World War 2 combat veteran, he served Marine Air Corps in the Pacific Theater, including campaigns in the Solomon Islands, the Gilbert Islands, the Marshall Islands and the Mariana Islands. Among his varied interests and passions were collecting Silver and Porcelain art pieces.

Set of Chinese Qing Dynasty Period Silver Tea pot and matching silver tray. 19th C, WANG HING. A set of Chinese silver tea set and matching silver Tray. The set contains a teapot, a tea pitcher, a tea canister and silver tray with u shape handle on the left right side. All tea set has a relief warfare on the battlefield around its body. Every handle is in the design of dragon with detail scale. The teapot has one handle, one spout and one lid. The tea pitcher(chahai) is a lidded two handle decanting vessel, which is used to ensure the consistency of the flavor of the tea. The tea canister is lidless and has one handle and one wide spout. The whole silver is luster, simple and elegant in modeling, quiet and solemn in spirit, strong and full in detail carved, warm and humid in silver, and exquisite in craftsmanship.
