Describing medicinal, poisonous, and narcotic plants, as well as their remedies. Joseph Roques, born in Valance, studied at the University of Montpellier and later moved to Paris were he acquired the reputation of an eminent botanist. Hocquart drew and engraved the fine plates which were then color-printed and finished by hand. According to Brunet the work was issued in 36 parts from 1821-25. Brunet IV 1388; Johnson Cleveland Collections 855; Nissen BBI 1673.
Condition
Rubbed, foot of spine chipped; fore edge bumped; foxing. The lacking plates do not appear to have ever been bound in. Offered as a collection of plates, not subject to return.
