SignedJames Francis Danby was a son of the Irish romantic painter, Francis Danby, RA (1793-1861). He was born in Bristol. He painted landscapes and coastal scenes, being particularly adept at depicting sunset effects. He exhibited 9 works at the RHA, 35 at the RA, 42 at The British Institution, and 67 at Suffolk Street. Works by Danby can be seen at the V&A Museum, Bristol City Art Gallery, and the National Library of Wales.Worldwide shipping available.
