Description
J. & E. Stevens (American (Connecticut), 1843 -1950), circa 1879. Mechanical cast iron painted bank 'Always did 'spise a mule' , jockey on bench variation. Put a coin underneath the boy’s bench and depress the button on the ground underneath the mule. The Mule swivels and kicks the boy back then the coin is deposited into the bank slot. Marked underneath PATD APR 22 1879 & PEND'G. Approximate height 6", width 10", depth 2.8". Provenance: Property from the Estate of Dr. Woody Cobbs & Mrs. Honor Cobbs, Atlanta, Georgia.
