Description
Pre-Columbian, Chancay culture, central coast of Peru, ca. 1000 to 1470 CE. This is a large, finely decorated pottery canteen with a wide-mouthed spout branching off a narrow neck (to prevent evaporation), and twin curved handles on either side of the neck. The body of the canteen is round, with a crossed pattern on it; it is colored with black and cream, as is the classic Chancay style. Size: 4.75" L x 8" W x 10.25" H (12.1 cm x 20.3 cm x 26 cm)
