Description
Pre-Columbian, central coast of Peru, Chancay culture, ca. 1200 to 1500 CE. This is a double-bodied whistle vessel with pedestal feet, circular bodies, wide strap handle, tall tapering spout, one side surmounted by a stylized avian figure with pointed beak, bulbous eyes, and flattened tail, and the whole painted in cream and dark brown decoration. Size: 4" L x 9" W x 9.75" H (10.2 cm x 22.9 cm x 24.8 cm)
