Description
Southeast Asia, Borneo, Ngaju Dayak, ca. late 19th to early 20th century CE. A breathtaking hand carved wood nude female charm figure, her delicate visage with closed eyes and mouth as if in a prayerful state or trance framed by a long coiffure that cascades down her back, her pose with arms wrapped around her upraised knees. Perforation at lower end for attachment or suspension. Custom stand. Size: 0.75" W x 3" H (1.9 cm x 7.6 cm)

Provenance: Ex- private collection of Ami Brown. Mr. Brown was the owner of the Coca Cola franchise in Israel and amassed a huge and very fine collection of Indonesian Kris's as well as other ethnographic and tribal arts. His collection numbered more than 3000 pieces with many on display during his life in the Ein Harod Museum of Art.
