Description
Late Period, 664-332 BC. A carved hardstone amulet fragment of a nude god (Harpocrates?) seated on a throne with scooped arms supported by two advancing lions on a rectangular base. 13 grams, 29mm (1 1/4"). Property of a London gentleman; acquired before 1970. Cf. similar model throne in Brooklyn Museum (accession number 37.418E) with inscription to Hor-pa-khered (“Horus the Child ”").

Fine condition, upper part absent.
