This wall clock was built around 1960. It is a decorative replica of a traditional wall clock type, that was widely disseminated in the Netherlands during the 17th and 18th century. The clock features an 8 day movement with half hour strike on gong, as well as an alarm function. The elaborately painted wooden casing impresses with its finely carved decorations that were made by a true master. The painted clock face shows Roman numbers and a small rural scene in the centre. The fine brass hands also appear in a beautiful curved shape. A separate index which belongs to the alarm clock was added to the hour hand. The small curved display above the clock face shows the moon phases that serve as another special feature. Apart from the chain hoist and the brass weights, the wall clock finally also provides a short pendulum which is typical for this clock model.
The wall clock is in a very good condition with only small traces of age and use. It measures 55 x 30 x 25 cm (height x width x depth). It worked perfectly during a short-time test; but long term precision and regularity cannot be guaranteed. (cbo)
