PAIR of Pueblo-style, Navajo-made jars decorated with sgraffito carving. The larger of the two incorporates Raku, horsehair technique designs, and a Malachite stone inset. The jars themselves are mold-made and kiln-fired. Unsigned. Dimensions: Larger: 3.25" h. x 4.75" w., Smaller: 3.5" h. x 3.25" w. "Horse Hair" pottery Jar by Vail (Vail Family) - so named because it's the carbon from horsehair randomly thrown onto the pot when it's hot from firing that forms the marble-like patterns and designs. The jar itself is mold-made and kiln-fired. Origin: the family patriarch is Navajo by marriage. Dimensions: 4.75" h. x 5" w. Santa Clara stone-polished redware potery bowl, matte-painted grey, buff and white, by Cresencia Tafoya. Signed: "Cresencia / Santa Clara Pueblo." Origin: Native American / American Indian. Dimensions: 2 & 1/8" h. x 3.75" w.
