Description
Four Piece Sterling Silver Tea and Coffee Service, c. 1900, by Mauser, #1737, consisting of a tea kettle on stand, a coffee pot, creamer and covered sugar, all with gadrooned borders, on octagonal feet; together with an open sugar bowl by Woodside, a silver plated sugar shell, and a silver plated handled tray with a gadrooned border, Teapot on Stand- H.- 12 3/4 in., W.- 6 1/2 in., D.- 7 3/4 in., wt.- 79.8 troy oz.
Condition
Condition consistent with age and use. There are mild surface scratches detected on all pieces. The spoon has a small bump noted at the back of the handle. The creamer has a few flea sized dents noted to the body and a small dark patina spot under the monogram. The covered sugar has some dents to the ball finial on the lid and the body has a few minor dents as well. The coffee pot interior is noted with brownish residue and wear, and the lid does not close flush with the top; there are some dents observed to the sides of the body. The tea pot has a loose handle, a few mild dents to the sides and the interior with some brownish and white colored residue wear. The stand appears with mild surface scratches and wear to the burner from apparent use. The tray has the most evidence of use with notable surface scratches. A good presentation.
