Description
A Japanese Zushi traveling shrine. 19th century Edo to early Meiji period. Gilt lacquer and wood cylinder shaped shrine having two hinged doors, mounted on a carved wood base and surmounted by a lacquer and wood lotus / lingzhi formed top. Gilt metal detailing. Measures 14.5" high, 7.5" diameter at the base.
CONDITION NOTE: Overall chips to base and lid, scratches to some areas of lacquer.
