Egyptian Lapis Amulet of Nephthys, Sister of Isis, Ramesside Period, c. 1100 B.C., Carved in royal blue lapis, wearing tight fitting dress and her typical crown of €œhouse and a basket€.
Nephthys was considered to be the nurse of the reigning Pharaoh. She was typically paired with her sister Isis in funerary rites because of their role as protectors of the mummy and the god Osiris and as the sister-wife of Set.
