Description
Rome, Roman Britain, ca. 43 to 410 CE. This is a trio of small enamelled fibulas that reflect the unique artistic tradition of Celtic influence on Roman style in Britain. Two are cruciform shaped and the third is round. These ubiquitous objects were used for holding cloaks shut, a necessity in the chilly climate of Roman Britain. Size: 1.3" W (3.3 cm).
