[Photography/Sawyer's Indian Art Gallery]. Very rare boudoir photograph of "Chief Big Tree's Daughters/(Kiowas)" with the imprint running horizontally on verso: "W.L. Sawyer's Indian Art Gallery/Purcell/Indian Territory" followed by a list of subjects and "every kind of scene showing the Indian in his wild state" available for "Curiosity seekers." The Kiowa warrior, war chief and peacemaker, Big Tree (Ado-ete, c.1845–1930) was released from prison in 1874 and lived in Anadarko, OK. 8 1/2 in. x 5 1/4 in. Card mount shows wear & grime, pencil mark on verso, some foxing, image good.
