This set of outdoor lamps comes from the Amon Carter Museum of American Art in Fort Worth, Texas designed by Philip Johnson in 1961. The museum building underwent a series of additions and renovations over the years (all under Johnsonäó»s supervision), and was most recently vastly expanded in 2001, the 50,000 plus square-foot addition spearheaded by Johnson himself. Approximately twenty-five of these lamps were installed on the museum campus in 1961. They were removed from the exterior during the 1980s and recently deaccessioned by the museum in 2015.
