A LOUIS XVI BRONZE DORÉ SIX LIGHT CHANDELIER, LATE 18TH CENTURY AND AFTER, PROBABLY FRENCH, the foliate canopy over a tied beribboned surmount with fringe tassel ends issuing flower bloom dotted chains, over a black enamel painted flower garland swirled quiver form support with feather ends, issuing six scrolling acanthus leaf arms ending in leafy bobèches, terminating in leafy garland festooned urn form candle cups, each arm interspersed by three bows, marked "FG 98 R 16," and scrolling acanthus leaf furls, fruiting arms with rams heads, the whole terminating in a suspended leafy finial. Height: 41" Diameter: 26 1/2"

There are some areas and spots with darkened patina throughout, mild losses to the black paint decoration, some wax residue within the candle cups, drilled holes, one broken chain and one grape bunch spray now lacking, some screws have been replaced, and occasional paint drips, the candle cups and bobeches probably replaced, but otherwise in very good condition, wear commensurate with age and use.
