Description
A pair of Costa Rican ceramic figures, c. AD 1200 – 1500, the first is a Chorotega seated figure from the Nicoya/Guanacaste region, nicely modeled with red and black details over glossy orange slip. H: 5 in (12.8 cm). The second piece is a 4-legged zoomorphic rattle, with circular eyes and nice details. H: 3 ½ in (8.9 cm). Both nice examples with mineral deposits throughout. Ex Dr. John Hilsabeck estate, Orange County.
