Description
late18th century; works with silvered face, moon phase, second hand and calendar engraved "Ellis Chandler" (Chandlee), Nottingham (MD) (1755-1816), enclosed by broken arched bonnet with rosette terminals, long waist with tombstone door, base with applied panel 92 in. H., 21 1/2 in. W., 12 in. D.; Note: The name Chandler and Chandlee were used interchangeably. Cecil County Tax records for the Chandlee family in East Nottingham Township show the name 'Chandler' in the years 1721, 1722 and 1727 according to the National Clock and Watch Museum.
Condition
Lower panel replaced, no feet. Clockworks have not been tested for functionality or completeness
