TWO AFRICAN TRIBAL CARVED WOOD CEREMONIAL STAFFS, one showing back to back male and female figures standing on a circular tier above a pair of male and female masks on a cylindrical ringed stem and iron rod, surmounted by a flat triangular panel centering crosshatched details, height: 63 3/8"; the other an iron spear mounted staff having a flat shaped spear head finial, on a twist reeded pole centering stylized standing figures with hands in various positions in deep relief, above a cylindrical shaft and double spool form decoration over geometric line carving, height: 52 3/4".
Condition
Good condition, surface buildup, minor marks and scratches, age cracks, small chips, female figure is lacking left arm and left breast, iron rod and spear head have surface rust and some pitting.
